# Improve Coverage Improve Coverage allows SkyLogger to locate new access points and optimize existing locations, submitting signal data to the TPS crowd-sourced database to improve location accuracy and coverage in your test area. RF scanning period controls how frequently the device scans for RF signals. Options balance data collection frequency against battery consumption, for example, moderate or medium battery impact. Note Coverage improvements submitted via this mode are applied on the weekly crowd-sourced database refresh cycle and may take up to one week to reflect in TPS location results. For immediate updates, you can utilize [Indoor Survey](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-42221-1/topic/indoor-survey.html#indoor-survey) or [Qualcomm TPS User Beacon API](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-42223-1) to perform injections into a private database to which only your API key has access. ## Configure Improve Coverage Improve Coverage is configured per-project from the [portal](https://www.my.skyhook.com/). 1. Go to your project page and locate the **SkyLogger Features** section. 2. Select the pencil ✏️ icon next to **Improve Coverage** to open the **SkyLogger Configuration Settings** panel. ## Record a session Open the SkyLogger application on the test device. Coverage collection runs passively in the background once started. 1. Select **Start** ▶️ to begin collecting and submitting RF signal data. 2. Select **Stop** 🟥 to end the session. 3. No further interaction is required during the collection.
