## Set up the environment

The QCC74x currents are measured in the following environment.

## Set up the hardware for VDD core 3.3V

Follow the instructions to connect the QCC74x
            development kit to a power analyzer.
1. Ensure the supply to VDD is set to 3.3V.
2. Set the Nordic Power Profiler Kit II to log data in Ampere Meter Mode.
3. Connect the QCC74x development kit and the Nordic Power Profiler
                    Kit II.

## **Set up the hardware for VDDIO (1.8V)**

Follow the instructions to connect the QCC74x development kit to a power
            analyzer to measure VDDIO.

1. Select VDDIO as 1.8V.
2. Set the Nordic Power Profiler Kit II to log data in Ampere Meter Mode.
3. Connect the QCC74x development kit and the Nordic Power Profiler Kit
                II.

## Set up the hardware for VDDIO (3.3 V)

Follow the instructions to connect the QCC74x development kit to a power
            analyzer to measure VDDIO.

1. Select VDDIO as 3.3V.
2. Set the Nordic Power Profiler Kit II to log data in Ampere Meter Mode.
3. Connect the QCC74x development kit and the Nordic Power Profiler Kit
                II.

1. To communicate with the QCC74x board, use a USB-C cable to connect
                between J2 on the QCC74x development kit and a USB port on a Windows
                PC.
2. Start a terminal application from the PC and select the lower port to connect using
                the port setting: `2000000, 8,  n,  1,  no flow control`.
3. The serial terminal application displays initialization information and provides a
                list of available commands.

To measure the power consumption on the QCC74x board, use the following
            demos:

- Hostless mode: examples/pmu/wl\_ble\_lp
- Hosted/Network Co-Processor (NCP) mode:
                example/wifi\_spi\_wifi

To build and install wl\_ble\_lp, do the following:

1. Add precompiled binaries make, cmake and riscv64 files from the QCCSDK-QCC74x to the
                PATH environment variable.
If the QCC74x\_SDK is downloaded to
                    C:\Downloads\QCCSDK-QCC74x, set the PATH as
                    follows:

        set %PATH%=%PATH%: C:\Downloads\QCCSDK-QCC74x\tools\make 
        set %PATH%=%PATH%: C:\Downloads\QCCSDK-QCC74x\tools\cmake\bin 
        set %PATH%=%PATH%: C:\Downloads\QCCSDK-QCC74x\toolchain\windows_x86_64\bin Copy to clipboard
2. Navigate to the location of wl\_ble\_lp, build and flash the images using the commands
                below.

        cd QCCSDK-QCC74x\examples\pmu\wl_ble_lp
        make
        make flash COMX=COMYY  // where COMYY is the COM_PORT example: COM24Copy to clipboard

The build steps for the wifi\_spi\_wifi demo is similar to the
                wl\_ble\_lp demo.
