# Audio and video encode

The **gst-audio-video-encode** application encodes audio and video data, which is
        stored in a user-specified output file. A few common scenarios where this application can be
        used are streaming services, video conferencing, and surveillance systems.

The figure shows the pipeline, which receives the video and audio feed, encodes, and
            parses the video stream. It then captures the audio stream and encodes it in MP3 format.
            Both streams are multiplexed and written to a file.

## Prerequisites

- Enable SSH in Permissive mode to securely access your host device. For

- Use the following command to enter the SSH shell and execute the use
                        cases:

        ssh root@<ip-addr of the target device>Copy to clipboard
- Run the following command to enable the Permissive
                    mode:

        setenforce 0Copy to clipboard
- Run the following command to enable the
                    display:

        export XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=/dev/socket/weston && export WAYLAND_DISPLAY=wayland-1Copy to clipboard
- Run the following command to push the files from host
                    machine:

        scp <filename> root@<IP address of target device>:/opt/Copy to clipboard

- AVC:

        gst-audio-video-encode -w 1920 -h 1080 -c 1 -o /opt/audiovideo.mp4Copy to clipboard
- HEVC:

        gst-audio-video-encode -w 1920 -h 1080 -c 2 -o /opt/audiovideo.mp4Copy to clipboard

To stop the use case, press CTRL + C.

## Expected output

The encoded audio and video streams are multiplexed to an MP4 container and written
                to a file.

Use the following command to pull the files from host machine:

    scp root@<IP address of target device>:/opt/ <destination directory>Copy to clipboard
