# Release Notes

**Qualcomm VSCode Extension offers**

> - Comprehensive Development Environment: Compile and flash platform images and Qualcomm-powered SDKs seamlessly and start building applications, ensuring a smooth development process.
> - End-to-End Application Development: Develop, Compile, deploy, and debug applications (either from Scratch or using built-in-templates and sample apps as a starting point) efficiently. You can compile and flash your applications onto devices directly from the IDE, making the development cycle faster and more integrated.
> - AI Integration: Interact with AI models using Qualcomm AI Hub, optimize and profile AI models for your applications.

- **Release Notes for VSCode Extension 2.0.0**
    - - **Supported Devices:** IQ9075 (Lemans), RB3Gen2,  RubikPi

    - This (version 2.0.0) is the first version of the VSCode Extension that supports IQ9075 and Ubuntu. As a user, if you are using either IQ9075 or Ubuntu OS (on any device), then you must upgrade the VSCode Extension to 2.0.0 (or higher)
- **Device OS Supported:** Qualcomm Linux (upto Qualcomm Linux 1.5), Ubuntu
- **Host OS Supported:** Ubuntu 22.04, Windows (w/ WSL Ubuntu 22.04).

- **Key Features:**
    - - Easy stepper workflow to setup host environment and device to enable quick onboarding.
- Device software Discovery, Host SDKs (for application development), Install and Flash

    - From Code Linaro(QLI) / Canonical (Ubuntu) OR
    - Zip / Tar files.
- Connect to devices by ADB or SSH (add device by device IP Address). Only ADB is supported for Qualcomm Linux. SSH is supported on both Qualcomm Linux and Ubuntu.
- For Ubuntu, installation of all required packages to execute Qualcomm Multimedia SDK apps. This is enabled though a ‘Configure Device’ action in the SDK dashboard page.
- Discover & execute sample applications through pre-built binaries. Also explore Sample Applications source code, modify, author applications, compile, debug and deploy on devices.

    - The artifacts needed by sample applications are automatically downloaded from the cloud using manifest files shipped with these applications.
- Discover AI Models compatible with devices. Compile AI Models using Qualcomm AI Hub to suit the needs of your devices and applications. Profile your model either on Qualcomm AI Hub or locally on the device.

- **Known Limitations**
    - - Limited testing on Mac/UTM environments and Ubuntu 24.04 host environments.
- Devices with Qualcomm Linux software version 1.3 or older, will need further UFS provisioning and CDT Programming step outside the IDE. See Qualcomm Developers documentation pages for performing these steps.
