# Power up and power cycle

The Qualcomm Dragonwing™ IQ-9075 Evaluation Kit comes preloaded with setup software. If no image is loaded, then the IQ-9075 EVK enters [emergency download mode](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-90441-253/topic/force-edl-mode.html#force-edl-mode) when powered on.

## Power up the IQ-9075 EVK

To power up the IQ-9075 EVK, do the following:

1. Connect the +12V power adapter.
2. Plug in the USB Type-C to USB Type-A or Type-C cable. This connection allows you to establish an ADB connection and to flash the software.

## Power cycle the IQ-9075 EVK

To power cycle the IQ-9075 EVK, do the following:

1. Disconnect the power adapter.
2. Disconnect the USB Type-C cable (if connected).
3. Complete the [power up](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-90441-253/topic/power-up-cycle.html#power-up-device) procedure.
