# AICMI (AICM CLI)

The AICM CLI (`aicmi`) is an interactive command line tool for AICM’s
REST APIs. It allows users to interact intuitively with AICM and avail
its features through the terminal without having to use a programmatic
interface. The prerequisite to using `aicmi` is that the user should
have AICM running on a target machine. It supports the available
features of metric retrieval, group management, and other
functionalities provided by AICM.

To run `aicmi`, execute the following command:

python aicmi.py
    Copy to clipboard

After running the command, the terminal prompts you to enter your username and password as shown in the following image. Use the same username and password that you use for AICM.

The terminal also shows the following command options:

- `exit`: Exits the application. Use to exit `aicmi`.
- `group`: By default, you can use the `group` command to view the list of all the existing groups along with their respective device IDs, if any.
- `health`: Displays general health data metrics. By default, you can use the `health` command to view the health metrics of all the AIC100 devices.
- `help`: For brief help on each command, you can use the `help` command directly or with `help <topic>` like the following image: 10, 30, 60, 300, 600.
- `-agg`, `--aggregation-type`, `--aggregation_type`: Data
aggregation function to apply on the data collected (string). Valid
choices: sum, min, max, avg.
- `-comp`, `--comparison-operator`, `--comparison_operator`:
Comparison operator to compare aggregated data with the threshold
during condition evaluation of a policy(string). Valid choices:
greater, greater\_or\_equal, less, less\_or\_equal.
- `-thres`, `--threshold`: Threshold value to compare aggregated
data against (float).
