# Always-on subsystem

The Always-on subsystem is responsible for the shared clock, voltage, and DDR management.
        The hardware-based resource and power management (RPMh) for faster response times–faster
        operating point transitions and enables faster transition to low-power modes. The Always-on
        processor handles the complex situations and dependencies.

## Modem GRFC PMIC interface 

The PMIC\_MGPI (modem GRFC PMIC interface) reduces PMIC pins and routing congestion. The routing peripheral chips’ clock enables signals to the QRB5165 MGPI\_GPIOs. It also enables more system power control flexibility. The following steps explain the working of PMIC\_MGPI:

1. A signal trigger from an internal QRB5165 signal or MGPI\_GPIO is sent to QRB5165
          PMIC\_MGPI block.
2. The PMIC\_MGPI trigger (rising or falling) corresponds to an 8-bit data command to a
          preconfigured SPMI SID/GID address.
3. The PMIC\_MGPI block receiving the trigger sends an interrupt to the PMIC arbiter to
          enable the clock and send the SPMI command (data + address).

Note: GPIO\_7, GPIO\_14, GPIO\_124, and GPIO\_77 are configured for NFC, WiGig, WLAN/Bluetooth, and SD card detect interrupts by software default. They are configurable through software, if needed.

Note: Within one MPGI, only one of the sources as mentioned in the table can be active at a time.
