# Operational status

Check the operational status to view the current status of the device.

| Status | Definition |
| :--- | :--- |
| In Use | Device configuration has the `isActiveTracking` flag<br>                            turned on. This implies that the device is in use even if it has not yet<br>                            been assigned to a shipment. |
| Not Set | Device is not in use. The device can be assigned to a shipment and<br>                            switched to `IN_USE`. |
| Ready | Device has completed its shipment journey. It can be assigned to a<br>                            new shipment. |
| Maintenance | Device is undergoing firmware update. |
| Unavailable | The device SIM has been suspended. |
| On Shipment | Device is currently assigned to a shipment. <br>Route delivery details<br>                                provide current status of the device:<br><br><ul class="ul"><br>                                <li class="li">Shipment Assigned: The device is assigned to a shipment but has<br>                                    not left the origin</li><br><br>                                <li class="li">Shipment in Progress: The device has left the shipment<br>                                    origin.</li><br><br>                                <li class="li">Shipment Arrived: The device is within delivery location<br>                                    geofence.</li><br><br>                                <li class="li">Shipment Completed: The device was successfully delivered. The<br>                                    device state will soon move back to Ready.</li><br><br>                                <li class="li">Unknown: The device has lost connection to the cloud during<br>                                    shipment.</li><br><br>                                <li class="li">Error: The device is not where its supposed to be during<br>                                    shipment.</li><br><br>                            </ul> |
