# Flight mode detection (FMD)

FMD detects motion through the accelerometer to determine if Flight Mode is On or
        Off.

**Use case**
- Air Shipment Requirement by FAA

**Sensors used**
- Accelerometer

**Mounting the device**
- Place inside asset tracking box

**Configuring the device**
- FMD will auto trigger based on motion detection.

FMD is disabled by default. To activate it, please create a support ticket at  [Aware
                Support](https://mysupport.qualcomm.com/aware/s/).
