# Configure Ethernet features Ethernet supports a wide range of generic features that don’t require specific configuration. However, a few features that must be configured explicitly for each reference kit are described here. You can control EEE by performing certain functions such as verifying the status of EEE and enabling or disabling EEE. It doesn’t have an electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) to store the MAC address permanently. However, the MAC address is programmed and stored at a persistent path on the device.
