# Getting started
This *Getting Started* helps you set up the Qualcomm^®^ RB3 Gen 2 Development Kit for you to experience end-to-end multimedia and artificial intelligence (AI) applications in a Linux-based environment. You can learn instructions for establishing essential communications between the RB3 Gen 2 device and hosts running Linux and Windows^®^ operating systems.
The development kit has these advantages:
- Accelerates the creation of high-performance devices for enterprise, industrial, and professional service applications.
- Simplifies the training and development of machine learning applications.
