# USB charging

The USB Type-C charging rate is 5 V at 1.5 A and 3 A, which supports fast
charging.
- USB Power Delivery 3.0:
- Configurable up to 5 A at 20 V, determined by capabilities of PMI
- Supports charging when acting as a host
- Power delivery:
- Adds increased power levels from existing USB standards up to 100 W
- Power direction is no longer fixed; this enables the product with the power (host or
peripheral) to provide the power
- Optimizes power management across multiple peripherals by negotiating different PD
profiles
- Compatible with pre-existing charging capabilities:
- Battery charging (BC) 1.2
- Quick Charge 2.0/3.0/4.0
