# Configure UEFI USB UEFI USB code is open source and integrates with EDK2 with minimal QTI customizations. When you configure UEFI USB, account for the following constraints: - UEFI does no USB power management. - UEFI has no scheduler, multithreading, or interrupts; all operations use polling. - The USB maximum speed in UEFI is USB3 Gen2. - The USB retimer control migrates to the SoCCPv2 charger PD firmware for consistency with EC-based designs and increased security. ## Related - [Debug the USB interface](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/debug-usb.html) - [Troubleshoot the USB interface](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/troubleshoot-usb.html) - [References](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/references.html) Last Published: Sep 17, 2026 [Previous Topic Enable a USB controller in Device mode](https://docs.qualcomm.com/bundle/publicresource/80-A0399-8/topics/enable-usb-controller-device-mode.md) [Next Topic Debug the USB interface](https://docs.qualcomm.com/bundle/publicresource/80-A0399-8/topics/debug-usb.md)
