# Enable the debug UART in the SoCCP Enable and configure the debug UART instance in the SoCCP device tree. 1. Configure the debug UART instance in the SoCCP device tree. 1. Open the device tree file: dt_settings/soc/glymur_soccp/core/buses/qupv3-se.dtsi Copy to clipboard 2. Configure the required serial engine as UART and set the baud rate. For example: &qup2\_se7 { compatible = “qcom,qup-uart”; // Change to i2c or spi for other serial engines current-speed = <115200>; status = “okay”; }; 3. To disable the SoCCP debug UART, set the node status to `disabled` or delete the node. 2. Select the instance used for the debug UART. 1. Open the board device tree file: soccp_proc\zephyr\kernel\config\boards\soccp\glymur_soccp_board\glymur_soccp_board.dts Copy to clipboard 2. Configure the console instance. For example: chosen { zephyr, sram = &ram0; zephyr, console = &qup2\_se7; }; 3. Enable UART logging support. 1. Open the configuration file: /soccp_proc/core/config/prj_glymur_soccp_board.conf Copy to clipboard 2. Add the required logging flag: + CONFIG_QC_LOG_BACKEND_UART=y Copy to clipboard 4. Enable serial driver support. 1. Open the configuration file: glymur_soccp_board_defconfig Copy to clipboard 2. Add the required serial flag: + CONFIG_SERIAL=y Copy to clipboard ## Related - [Enable a peripheral interface in the OOB subsystem](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/enable-peripheral-interface-oob.html) - [Configure the PCIe and USB interfaces](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/configure-pcie-usb-interfaces.html) - [Debug the USB interface](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/debug-usb.html) Last Published: Sep 17, 2026 [Previous Topic Enable a peripheral interface in the SoCCP](https://docs.qualcomm.com/bundle/publicresource/80-A0399-8/topics/enable-peripheral-interface-soccp.md) [Next Topic Enable a peripheral interface in the OOB subsystem](https://docs.qualcomm.com/bundle/publicresource/80-A0399-8/topics/enable-peripheral-interface-oob.md)
