# Enable a USB controller in Device mode Enable the USB controller in Device mode by enabling the PHY and controller device nodes. To enable a USB controller in Device mode: 1. Open the device tree file: root/arch/arm64/boot/dts/qcom/glymur.dtsi Copy to clipboard 2. Enable the eUSB2 PHY node. 3. Enable the USB3 PHY node. 4. Enable the USB controller node. 5. Set the `dr_mode` property to `peripheral` on the controller node. For example: &usb2_phy_0 { status = "okay"; }; &usb3_phy_0 { status = "okay"; }; &usb0 { status = "okay"; dwc3@a600000 { dr_mode = "peripheral"; status = "okay"; }; }; /* USB1 PHY + controller */ &usb2_phy_1 { status = "okay"; }; &usb3_phy_1 { status = "okay"; }; Copy to clipboard ## Related - [Configure UEFI USB](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/configure-uefi-usb.html) - [Debug the USB interface](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/debug-usb.html) - [Troubleshoot the USB interface](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-A0399-8/topic/troubleshoot-usb.html) Last Published: Sep 17, 2026 [Previous Topic USB controller reset control](https://docs.qualcomm.com/bundle/publicresource/80-A0399-8/topics/usb-controller-reset-control.md) [Next Topic Configure UEFI USB](https://docs.qualcomm.com/bundle/publicresource/80-A0399-8/topics/configure-uefi-usb.md)
