# Introduction This document describes a debugger for the Qualcomm® Hexagon™ processor architecture. It is based on the LLDB debugger that was developed as part of the LLVM project. The debugger works with the Hexagon software development tools and utilities to provide a complete programming system for developing high-performance software. The LLDB debugger runs on the Windows and Linux platforms. Note The debugger is commonly referred to as *LLDB*. ## Features LLDB offers the following features: - High performance - Efficient memory use - Extensible (using Python) - Multi-threaded debugging support - Remote debugging - Supports C and C++ ## Conventions Computer text, code names, and code samples appear in a different font, for example, code\_*<function\_name>*(). The following notation is used to define command syntax: - Square brackets enclose optional items, for example, [label]. - **Bold** indicates literal symbols, for example, [**comment**]. - The vertical bar character, |, indicates a choice of items. - Parentheses enclose a choice of items for example, (**add**|**del**). - An ellipsis, … , follows items that can appear more than once.
