This document describes how to use QCLI\_DEMO for measuring the QCC730 current consumption in various operation modes.
## Test environment

The QCC730 currents are measured in the following environment.
Table : Power measurement environment setup
| **Hardware** | QCC730 Development Kit (DVK). |
| --- | --- |
| **Environment** | Room temperature.
Measurement is taken within a shield room. |
| **Test instrument** | Keysight N6705C DC power analyzer mainframe for dynamic measurements, with 4-wire sensing disabled. |
## Power measurement points and rework

Three versions of QCC730 DVK are available for evaluation. Determine the DVK version based on pin layout from the following pictures. Follow the corresponding instructions to rework the DVK and
connect it to the power analyzer.
### DVK-1 setup

1. Remove the 32.768 K OSC, which isn't in use but still draws current from VDDIO rail.
2. Select VDDIO as 1V8.
3. Remove jumper J9 to disconnect VDD from VDDIO rail. Supply VDD from J5.PIN2 to J9.PIN1 with a fly wire as shown by the green line in [Figure : DVK-1 setup](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-Y8730-3/topic/power_measurement_tests.html#dvk_1__fig_dvk_1).
4. Configure two channels of the Keysight N6705C DC power analyzer as Current Measurement mode.
5. Connect the DVK and the N6705C as shown in [Figure : DVK-1 setup](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-Y8730-3/topic/power_measurement_tests.html#dvk_1__fig_dvk_1).

1. Remove jumper J3.PIN11 to PIN12 to disconnect the 32.768 K OSC, which isn't in use but still draws current from VDDIO rail.
2. Remove jumper J3.PIN3 to PIN4 to disconnect VDD from VDDIO rail. Supply VDD from J5.PIN2 to J3.PIN3 with a fly wire as shown by the green line in [Figure : DVK-2 setup](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-Y8730-3/topic/power_measurement_tests.html#dvk_2__fig_dvk_2).
3. Select VDDIO as 1V8.
4. Configure two channels of the Keysight N6705C DC power analyzer as Current Measurement mode.
5. Connect the DVK and the N6705C as shown in [Figure : DVK-2 setup](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-Y8730-3/topic/power_measurement_tests.html#dvk_2__fig_dvk_2).

1. Remove jumper J3.PIN15 to PIN16 to disconnect the 32.768 K OSC, which isn't in use but still draws current from VDDIO rail.
2. Select VDDIO as 1V8.
3. Configure two channels of the Keysight N6705C DC power analyzer as Current Measurement mode.
4. Connect the DVK and the N6705C as shown in [Figure : DVK-3 setup](https://docs.qualcomm.com/doc/80-Y8730-3/topic/power_measurement_tests.html#dvk_3__fig_dvk_3).

1. To communicate with the QCC730 board, use a USB-C cable to connect between J2 on the motherboard and a USB port on a Windows PC.
2. Start a terminal application from the PC and select the lower port to connect using the port setting: `115200, 8, n, 1, no flow control`.
3. The serial terminal application displays initialization and command list information.
